If it is up to Donald Trump, the man who famously put the phrase “you’re fired” on the map will be the new owner of the Buffalo Bills. According to Tim Graham of The Buffalo News, Trump is among those interested in buying the Bills, which are expected to be sold following the passing of former owner Ralph Wilson.
“I’m going to give it a heavy shot,” Trump stated on Monday afternoon. “I would love to do it, and if I can do it I’m keeping it in Buffalo.”
For Buffalo fans worried that Trump would be purchasing the franchise to move it, he claims to have no desire to do so.
“I live in New York, and it’s easier for me to go to Buffalo than any other place,” Trump said. “Where am I going to move it, some place on the other side of the country, where I have to travel for five hours?”
One big issue standing in Trump’s way is the fact that he has ownership in multiple casinos, which is against NFL policy for league personnel. Trump, for one, is not worried about his current business ties in Atlantic City.
“It’s a public company, and I could sell instantaneously,” Trump said. “So that wouldn’t be a conflict at all.
Time will only tell if the billionaire plans to put a real play into place for purchasing the franchise.
