John Brooks Is Johnny Futbol In Philly Inquirer Newspaper Headline

TOPICS:
, , , ,

Here’s Johnny! No, not the Johnny Manziel that’s stolen the headlines over the past couple of years. We’re talking about John Brooks, the U.S. men’s national team sub who scored the stunning goal to shake Ghana off the USA’s back. His header led the U.S. to a 2-1 win, and landed him on newspapers and websites across America. No headlines were better than the Philly Inquirer’s “Johnny Futbol.” Fittingly enough, Brooks is the same age as Manziel at just 21 years young.

Two longshot Johnnys. One country. This is what America is all about.
