Johnny Manziel Signs Sponsorship Deal With Card Company Panini Authentic

That dang Johnny Manziel is back at it – signing football cards and other memorabilia. Nearly a year after he paralyzed the sports blogosphere (and gave the NCAA a coronary) for allegedly autographing sports cards, Manziel has inked a sponsorship deal with memorabilia company Panini Authentic (owners of Donruss).

According to Sports Collectors Daily, he joins Panini’s impressive style that includes, among others, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and Andrew Luck. While he has already signed some non-NFL licensed merchandise, Manziel’s first official league-licensed, autographed item will be a rookie card released in late May.

Manziel released the following statement regarding the new venture:

“I’m honored that Panini America wanted me to be a part of their great team,” said Manziel in a news release. “I remain focused and committed to doing everything I can – on the field and off — to be the best quarterback I can be.”
