The Miami Hurricanes have taken one of the more interesting approaches to filling up a football stadium that we’ve ever seen. According to Matt Porter of The Palm Beach Post, UM is running this “Go To Fewer Games!” ad in South Florida newspapers. The mission, which may seem backwards, is an attempt to get more fans into Sun Life Stadium for the 2014 football season.
Miami is packaging it as a Two-Game Mini-Plan, offering tickets to the FSU and North Carolina games. In the ad the university states that, “better seats are available at better prices through the Two-Game Mini-Plan than on StubHub and other broker sites for the FSU game alone.”
Considering Miami has had a tough time selling tickets to games, an out-of-the-box approach might actually be what the university needs.
