NASCAR drivers will have to do more than haul butt and turn left in Sunday’s Save Mart 350 in Sonoma. The race is one of two road courses on the Sprint Cup circuit, and is the first of the season.
While Jimmie Johnson has kicked the tires and lit the fires of late, in road races it’s best to look towards a ringer. Marcos Ambrose is the favorite coming into this one. The Aussie’s first Sprint Cup win was at the 2011 Watkins Glenn course, and his extensive road racing background makes him a threat for whenever the tracks turn winding.
