Fear not, SEC fans. A familiar face that abruptly left CBS last fall will reportedly soon be gracing our homes on the new SEC Network. According to sources, per Brett McMurphy, veteran broadcaster Tim Brando has been hired by the network.

While announcing can be a very divisive subject (and for the record, I am big fan of “Venerable Verne” Lundquist), Brando is an incredibly knowledgeable, well-respected, and comfortable face to invite into your home during SEC contests. He is usually on point with his analysis, and is a knockout hire (if true) for the SEC Network.
Nothing official has come from Brando or the league, but if true, adding another conference homer to the lineup would be a huge get for the SEC Network. His new role has not yet been defined, though some type of studio hosting role would be a good bet.
