Russell Wilson can add another accolade to his mantel for 2014: NFL’s top producing player for retail sales. According to Sports Illustrated, the Super Bowl champion took over the top spot on NFL Player Inc.’s list of the top 50 player sales, which measures total sales brought in from a player.
Just behind Wilson is his counterpart in Super Bowl XLVIII, Denver quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning led retail sales for the league last year.
San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick checks in at No. 3, followed by Washington’s Robert Griffin III and Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers.
As to be expected, the top 10 is dominated by quarterbacks. The only player on the list not responsible for signal calling is Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch.
