We may not all be able to agree on a name for the classic tailgating game cornhole, but just about everyone enjoys playing it. It’s virtually impossible to stumble through a parking lot before any major sporting event and not see crowds of fans partaking in the tossing of bean bags at wooden boards.

Most people like to play casually but some have taken things to a professional level and actually compete for money and prizes. Once a game receives a “professional” designation, no matter how ridiculous it may seem, analysis and strategy come into play.

The folks at ESPN Sports Science have created a fancy visual breakdown of three common shots, the slide shot, block shot, and airmail shot, coupled with explanations of speed and friction to describe how each throw interacts with the board.
