Maria Taylor: Meet The ESPN And SEC Network Reporter

With the launch of the SEC Network and college football season upon us, there’s no better time than now to introduce the world to Maria Taylor. If Taylor looks familiar, it’s because she also carries sideline reporting duties for ESPN.

Before stepping into the broadcasting field, Taylor played volleyball and basketball for the University of Georgia. Prior to her days with the Worldwide Leader, she worked with IMG College at the University of Georgia, Comcast Sports South, Fox Sports South, Raycom Sports, Turner Sports, and the ACC Digital Network. The following career background is courtesy of Taylor’s website.

Maria Taylor is in her third season as a college analyst & reporter across ESPN’s networks. In the spring of 2014, it was announced that Taylor would join the SEC Network  where she would serve as a studio host, sideline reporter, and volleyball/basketball analyst.  In 2013, she reported from the sidelines on ESPN2’s weekly Saturday night primetime college football broadcast in addition to the 2014 Orange Bowl, her second consecutive year covering the BCS bowl game. In her inaugural season as an ESPN College Football sideline reporter, Taylor worked the sidelines for ESPN/ABC Saturday afternoon broadcasts.  Additionally, she has been an analyst and reporter on ESPN’s coverage of both the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament and Women’s Volleyball National Championship for the previous two years.

Taylor is also an analyst on the NCAA Women’s Basketball Selection Show and NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Preview Show.
