Washington Redskins Cheerleader Instagram Photo Is Tone Deaf

Clearly the Washington Redskins are tone deaf. That’s the only way to describe the franchise after the Redskins cheerleaders’ official Instagram account shared this photo on Tuesday. The First Ladies Of Football are pictured here showing off all of the cheerleading uniforms worn throughout the past 50 years. The explicit American Indian design on the far left is the most damning.

The franchise has been under intense scrutiny for continued use of “Redskins.” The USPTO even recently canceled Washington’s trademark as a move to strong arm team owner Daniel Snyder into changing the name.

Instagram users were quick to weigh in on the ignorant post. Following is a sampling of the comments on the photo.

Apparently the modus operandi around Washington’s front offices is to further alienate itself by ignoring any and all criticism. The disconnect between the billionaire owner and the rest of the world is quite embarrassing.
