Well, Gamedayr Nation, the Alabama Crimson Tide has solidified its spot as the nation’s No. 2 team, having escaped an extremely well-played SEC Championship game against Georgia, 32-28.

The BCS top five will change; despite the fact that Georgia fought Nick Saban’s squad to the very end, the Dawgs’ second loss will drop them below several one-loss squads. In fact, the loss will drop coach Mark Richt’s crew out of the BCS bowls altogether.

Oregon, with all of its talent, was off this weekend, forced to watch Stanford win the Pac-12 Championship over UCLA, 27-24. The Big 12′s one loss team, Kansas State, demolished then-No. 18 Texas, 42-24.

1. Notre Dame

2. Alabama

3. Florida

4. Oregon

5. Kansas State

The BCS standings will be released Sunday night. We will keep you updated here on the new rankings.

GEORGIA SHOULD STILL REMAIN 3 I MEAN CMON!!!!!!

    • GatorAlum1997

A 2 loss Georgia should NOT remain in top 3…

        thank you

    • http://www.facebook.com/slicktrav Travis Whidden

      Why?

  • GATOR NATION

BAMA SHOULD NOT BE THERE AT ALL THEY LOST TO TEXAS AT HOME AND THE GATORS BEAT TEXAS AT THERE HOUSE. IT SHOULD BE THE GATORS PLAYING FOR NUMBER 1. AND N.D. SHOULDNT BE THERE CAUSE THEY HAD A SOFT TEAMS TO PLAY. AT LEAST THE GATORS BEAT 5 TOP TEN TEAMS B.S.

    • http://twitter.com/Mozzabillie Mozzabillie

Neither Bama nor Florida played Texas! Get your facts straight before you talk. They played Texas A&M! You forgot the part about Alabama beating Georgia who beat Florida. LOL

      • http://www.facebook.com/jesse.r.aycock Jesse Ryan Aycock

Facts? Florida also trottled South Carolina who had recently throttled Georgia.

      • http://www.facebook.com/marthareed81 Martha Reed

You are correct about it being Texas A & M, but we DID beat BOTH teams that beat Georgia & BAMA! IT’S-GREAT-TO-BE-A-FLORIDA-GATOR!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/darryl.rouse1 Darryl Rouse

I think you are wrong, Based on the fact that Ga did not get blown out by Bama, which is what a lot of people thought, they should stay in the top 5. I think they may drop to #4 or even #5. but no less than that

  • http://www.facebook.com/troy.foster.374 Troy Foster

No matter who the Gators play..Sorry about their damn luck!

  • http://www.facebook.com/Jennifer.Jones.aka.JJ Jennifer Sunshine Jones-Butler

I don’t think they should use any of the wins/losses from a Divison Championship game because not all divisions in college play one, so us Dawgs shouldn’t move anywhere. Plus Bama didn’t blow us out of the water by any means. Yes it was a great game and both teams played their hearts out. But the BCS shouldn’t change at all. It really shouldn’t matter cause all the teams are loosing players for the next season so the rankings will be based on this years performance. Its BS Georgia should remain #3.

id like to see a bama georgia rematch

    • wstainsby

So basically losing a game against a quality rival on national TV should not count? as SEC fans, we love having a strong conference championship game that propels one of our teams into the NC game. claiming now that it shouldn’t count is ridiculous. Can’t have it both ways.

  • http://www.facebook.com/tim.wentworth1 Tim Wentworth

the only reason georgia and alabama were even in the SEC championship game were because of their soft ass schedules. you give the bulldogs UF’S schedule and theres no way they would be in that game

    • http://www.facebook.com/slicktrav Travis Whidden

      So right……

  • wstainsby

UGA had one of the softest schedules in the nation. They lost 2 of 3 games to ranked teams
(Carolina and Bama), and were handed 6 turnovers in their close win
over UF. It’s too bad that strength of schedule and who you play doesn’t
have more weight in the BCS than it does.

  • DrywallDupes

Hey, The Irish are one and Bama two. Got it. Florida is three so why arent the Gators playing Oregon or at least K State in the Bowl? That is a huge blunder in the BCS. Im sure the ratings for the game would be much higher to play one of them instead of The Cardinals. Get it together people

  • Alex G

All of you need to fuck urself because Florida sucks period the end…ROLL TIDE. Except for Alabama and Texas A&M fans i respect the Aggies all the way for comin into our house and showin us how its done and congrats to Jonny Football last night on winning the Heisman Trophy
