The Outland Trophy, presented annually to the nation’s top interior lineman, has been presented to Texas A&M’s Luke Joeckel

While the Trophy can be awarded to either an offensive or defensive player, Joeckel became the third consecutive offensive player to take home the hardware.

The 6-foot-6, 310-pound junior earned first team All-Big 12 last year, but obviously stepped up his performance in the Aggies’ first year in the Southeastern Conference.

Joeckel anchored an offensive line that had to block for relatively long stretches of time with scrambling quarterback Johnny Manziel running all over the field behind him.

Well done. I expected B. Jones to repeat and be the first to win at two positions.
