The computers and voters will once again be tasked with updating the BCS Poll standings following Week 10 of the 2013 college football season.
Before then, however, we take a stab at projecting how the top 10 will shape up. The top four are easy: Alabama and Oregon remain atop the standings, despite enjoying Week 10 from their couches. Florida State crushed a second top 10-ranked ACC foe, but it probably won’t be enough to jump the Ducks. Ohio State bageled Purdue, but the Boilermakers aren’t a good enough opponent to make a case for the Buckeyes – despite their 21 straight wins.
As for the Canes, coach Al Golden’s program was the only top 10 team to lose on Saturday. Due to close, shaky wins in previous weeks, the U’s first loss of the year drops them out of the top 10 in favor of Auburn, who creeps up one spot in the BCS. After opening the year unranked, Auburn and first-year coach Gus Malzahn are flying high at 8-1 on the season. They deserve to be here.
Along with the Tide and Ducks, Baylor, Stanford and Oklahoma were all also on byes. We will find out more about each of these five teams in Week 11. Alabama hosts LSU; Oregon travels to Stanford for a Thursday night showdown; and finally the Bears welcome Oklahoma to Waco.
