2013 Spring football scrimmage dates for every college football team in the country

Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron (10) waves to the crowd as he leaves the field after the 2013 BCS Championship game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Sun Life Stadium. Alabama won 42-14. (Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports)

The Alabama victory in the BCS national title game was a blast for Tide fans, miserable for Irish fans, and bittersweet at best for the rest of the nation.

Because it signaled the end of college football for the next several months — duh.

Well, the wait is  (sort of) almost over. With spring practices kicking into gear at many schools nationwide, fans look to spring games/scrimmages as sort of a benchmark day. If the team’s quarterback looks comfortable under center, there have not been too many injuries, and those expected to replace departed juniors and seniors are progressing as expected, supporters can begin to drum up support for a big year.

Of course, most fans are already getting excited for a great season out of there team. It’s simply that the spring football game provides us with the first public look at how the team is progressing.
