With the fifth weekend of the 2013 college football season in the books, ESPN’s Andrea Adelson has updated her ACC bowl game projections. Still without a loss, both Clemson and Florida State are slotted for BCS berths. The Tigers are expected to win the conference crown and thus earn the league’s automatic Orange Bowl berth. The Noles, should they continue to win games at this clip, will earn an at-large invite to the Sugar Bowl.
A few other teams have risen to the occasion as well. Miami continues to roll, and Maryland was able to take the weekend off after crushing West Virginia in Week 4. Virginia Tech narrowly escaped with a much-needed win over Georgia Tech in a Thursday showcase.
The only team that really struggled was North Carolina. The Tar Heels were blown out by ECU, 55-31, to drop to 1-3 on the year and out of the projections altogether.
