Following a big slate of games during Week 7 of the 2013 college football season, ESPN has updated its ACC bowl game projections.
Despite a tougher-than-expected battle against Boston College, Clemson remains entrenched at the top of the league and primed for its automatic berth in the Orange Bowl. That could change in a hurry, however. The Tigers play host to fellow top five team Florida State in Week 8. Right now, the Seminoles are expected to earn an at-large invite to the Sugar Bowl, but a road win would put them in the national title conversation – and the same goes for a Tigers win at home.
Miami is the league’s third unbeaten, top 10 team. Virginia Tech, after reeling off its sixth consecutive win, is bowl-eligible after only finishing 7-6 a year ago. Maryland, despite its horrendous showing against FSU, only needs one more win to lock down a bowl berth themselves.
