Following a junior year that featured 3,528 passing yards, a whopping 40 touchdowns and only seven interceptions, USC quarterback Matt Barkley was considered a lock to be selected in the top five of the 2012 NFL Draft. He decided instead to forgo those millions and stay in school in hopes of leading the Trojans to the national title.
However, USC — and Barkley — flamed out in historic fashion. The Trojans tumbled from No. 1 in the nation to well out of the rankings and finished with six losses. Barkley finished up his career on the sidelines, nursing a shoulder injury.
The tumultuous season and poor individual showing wound up costing Barkley a first round draft selection and the millions of dollars that go with it. On Thursday, Barkley signed his four-year rookie contract after the Philadelphia Eagles took him way down in the fourth round.
The fall, again, cost him quite a bit of money, but that doesn’t mean he needs you bringing it up — especially if you are tweeting it out more than two million of your followers, a la Mr. Adam Schefter.

Absolutely legendary play right there, Barkley.
Now just got out on to the field and prove your changed signature is worth a little more money.
Eagles fans are hoping for it.
