The Atlanta Hawks were dealt a crushing blow on Friday with news that Al Horford suffered a torn pectoral muscle against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Horford later tweeted about the injury, taking it in stride and using the adversity as motivation.

At the time of his injury, Horford was leading the team in points (18.6) and rebounds (8.4) per game. Beyond statistics, the Hawks lose their team leader. Since being drafted in 2007, Horford has been the heart and soul of the Atlanta franchise.

Atlanta is one of only three teams in the Eastern Conference with a winning record. The Hawks must now find a way to make up for the skills and intangibles lost due to this injury.
