Alabama head coach Nick Saban announced on Thursday that linebacker Xzavier Dickson and tailback Alvin Kamara would be suspended for the Crimson Tide’s Sugar Bowl game against Oklahoma.
Dickson, a junior backup linebacker, played in all 12 games behind Denzel Devall. He finished with 13 tackles on the season and one sack.
Kamara, a freshman out of Norcross, GA, did not play at all in 2013. He was buried on the depth chart after suffering a knee injury in fall camp. This isn’t Kamara’s first time in the Tide’s doghouse this year. He was not with the team during the LSU game.
Saban did not release details for their suspensions at the time of the announcement.
Alabama will travel to New Orleans to take on Oklahoma in the 2014 BCS Sugar Bowl on Jan. 2. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
