AP preseason basketball poll released, Kentucky atop rankings

The Associated Press has released its preseason college basketball poll for the 2013 season.

For the first time since 1996, the Kentucky Wildcats sit atop the preseason poll. The Wildcats received 27 first place votes, followed by No. 2 Michigan State (22), No. 3 Louisville (14) and No. 4 Duke (2).

The ACC placed the most teams in the rankings with five, followed by the Big Ten with four. The Big 12 , Pac-12 and AAC each placed three teams.
