Each story that comes out of Alabama following the 2013 Iron Bowl continues to find a way to top the previous ones. One fan was killed at an Iron Bowl party, and now an Arab, AL family was reportedly attacked following the game.
The Tidmore family was lighting fireworks after Auburn’s miracle win when they were attacked by an angry man. He reportedly came out of the woods, upset over the outcome, and took his aggression out on the wife and husband.
Rena Tidmore recounts the encounter her family had:
“It happened so fast, it was bizarre and really crazy,” Rena Tidmore said.
“My son ran in and told me there is a man attacking Dad on the back porch,” she said. “I ran back there and there was a man on top of my husband hitting him with his fists. I tried to pull him off of him and he cursed at me and told me I was next and then he punched me in the face. He definitely smelled of alcohol.”
“People started arriving from the party that he had come from and told me that he was violent and mad about the game,” she said.
The man’s wife eventually corralled him and removed him from their property, but not before he left the husband with “several knots” and “deep tissue bruises … on his neck.”
Rena and her husband made their way to the hospital later that night. As of writing, the case is still under investigation.
