After defeating Alabama in spectacular fashion, Auburn players, coaches and fans all celebrated on the field of Jordan-Hare Stadium. As Coach Gus Malzahn was swarmed, one overzealous young man swiped the coach’s visor.
Now, via The War Eagle Reader, that fan has apologized and looks to return the hat to the Tigers’ leader.
Dear Coach Malzahn,
I saw this on YouTube and war eagle reader and thought, “Holy crap what have I done!” I am soooooooo sorry about taking your visor; I took it thinking you would just throw it into the audience later anyway. If you guys can send me the address to return it to then I’ll be more then happy to do so….
According to TWER, the culprit was a 15-year-old boy named Hayden who was contrite for taking the visor “in such a rude way.” It’s hard to fault the young man for his overflow of emotions after the game. It’s also a nice gesture on his part to return the collector’s item.
