You’ve got to love when legendary coaches and Twitter come together just to take a shot at an underdog. Would this be America if former Oklahoma Sooners coach Barry Switzer wasn’t talking trash about lowly Iowa State? We think not.
According to Switzer, “everyone beats ISU at home.” The Sooners host the Cyclones on Saturday, in a game the former coach already has pegged as a victory. He also congratulated current head coach Bob Stoops on his 157th win, tying him with Switzer for most all-time at Oklahoma.

Iowa State is 1-8 on the year and 0-6 in the Big 12. The program has an all-time record of 5-70-2 against mighty Oklahoma. The Cyclones’ overall record in the history of their program is 506-610-46.
So while the shot might be cheap, and a bit premature, Switzer does have a point.
However, maybe this trash talking will give Iowa State players just what they need – as well as throw a little jinx into the Sooners’ cap. Don’t let Switzer, or OU, treat you like this, Iowa State.
