Following Week 9 of the 2013 college football season, each of the nation’s top seven teams has a case for being ranked at No. 1 or 2 in the BCS polls.
Coaching Search’s Pete Roussel put together a chart that includes some very pertinent stats in regards to gauging a team’s dominance.
As we can see, No. 2 Oregon, No. 4 Ohio State and No. 6 Baylor dominate offensively. Each boast a Heisman candidate at the quarterback position in Marcus Mariota, Braxton Miller and Bryce Petty, respectively.
However, defense wins championships, which Alabama knows a thing or 15 about. The winners of the last two crystal footballs, Alabama leads the other teams by a significant margin when it comes to third down conversion rates on defense.
