There are so many games outside of any actual football game we’ve almost managed to lose count. There are beerpong games, quarters, food contests and zillions more.
However, at one campus each week, it’s a sign game, pure and simple. When ESPN’s College GameDay rolls into town, it’s all about who can come up with the craziest, quirkiest signs in order to get themselves on national television.
With Corso, Fowler, Herbstreit and Dez in Clemson this Saturday for the Tigers huge season-opener against Georgia, what signs dominated the game before the game?
Above we have a nice jab at Georgia, a program that spent some time this offseason dealing with the DUI of its punter … on a boat. Below, Clemson fans poke fun at Johnny Football’s autographs-for-pay scandal. There were plenty of JFF signs out there on Saturday.

This one might be our favorite. Not only does it jab the fact that Clemson’s Howard’s Rock was vandalized, but it also pokes fun at the Tigers’ “big uglies.” Well played.
Now, look towards the ends of the photo below. Yes, there are some faces in the middle, but those are a bit overplayed. We’re laughing at the “Murray Hearts Justin Beiber” sign and the “Today is my Birthday” sign. Notice how the guy completely ran out of room trying to write “Birthday” but played it off with the different colors. We see what you did there.
Is a Prius the most “manly” car out there? No, but hey, it’s pretty great for the environment. Pretty clever sign.
