LSU legend Billy Cannon rushed to hospital, thoughts and prayers from Tiger Nation

This is the type of news we never want to report. Legendary LSU football player and 1959 Heisman Trophy winner Billy Cannon, who is 75, was rushed to the hospital at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to theadvocate.com.

A prison ambulance from Louisiana State Penitentiary escorted Cannon to the R.E. Barrow Treatment Center after suffering a possible stroke.

“He (Cannon) was conscious and coherent, but it was coming on him,” Warden Burl Cain said the doctor told him.

As of writing this, arrangements were being made to move Cannon to Baton Rouge.

Cannon, one of the true Tiger greats, is the director of the prison’s dental program.

From all of us at Tiger Nation, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
