Bo Pelini on Nebraska: ‘If they wanna fire me go ahead’

Bo Pelini is not a man to mix words. After his Nebraska Cornhuskers team was humbled, 38-17, by Iowa in the team’s regular-season finale, Pelini had strong words for detractors.

While commenting on his job status, Pelini more-or-less dared Nebraska’s administration to fire him.

It’s been a trying year for Pelini. Earlier in the season audio of him chiding the Big Red fan base surfaced. Coupled with his team’s inconsistent performance, Pelini has not endeared himself to Nebraska’s fervent fans.

Pelini stood behind his team and staff in the press conference, saying that the program is still heading in the right direction.

Passionate intensity has made Pelini successful throughout his career. However his behavior during and after the Iowa game may have been the tipping point for the coach’s tenure in Lincoln. Below is footage from the post-game press conference.
