Report: Bob Stoops not a target of the Cleveland Browns

Before Bob Stoops had even wrapped up Oklahoma’s dominate Sugar Bowl win over Alabama, his name was being attached to the open Cleveland Browns job. Some even said he may have the inside track for the position.

On Monday, however, a source told The Associated Press that Stoops will not receive an interview from the Browns.

Cleveland is still rumored to have a couple of college coaches, Auburn’s Gus Malzahn and Vanderbilt’s James Franklin, on the short list of potential candidates.

The franchise has already interviewed three NFL candidates: Arizona DC Todd Bowles, New England OC Josh McDaniels, Seattle DC Dan Quinn. The Browns have also reached out to Denver OC Adam Gase, who stated that he will not meet with teams until the Broncos’ playoff run is over.
