Denver Broncos safety Mike Adams is hoping to walk home from Super Bowl 48. Adams told The Denver Post that if his team hoists the Lombardi Trophy, he’s going to use his two feet to make his way back to his home town of Paterson, New Jersey.
“If we win the Super Bowl, I’m going to keep my helmet and pads on and I’m walking home,” Adams insists.
“It can be almost like a cancer,” said Adams, describing his hometown. “And I say that because the negativity in that place can be like a snowball rolling downhill.”
Some may think he’s a crazy person making his way down the highway, but Adams doesn’t seem to mind at all.
“After I get to the IHOP on Route 3, I’ll start hitchhiking,” said Adams, laughing. “But they’d probably think I’m just some crazy person.”
If Denver does beat Seattle to win the Super Bowl, we hope that Adams stays true to his word. Watching him walk his way home on TV would be a fantastic way to send out the 2013-14 NFL season.
