Arkansas State’s Bryan Harsin will become the new head coach at Boise State, according to a report from Pete Roussel of

Harsin was an assistant coach for the Broncos from 2001-10. He was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under Chris Petersen from 2006-10.

Following his time at Boise State, Harsin had a two-year stint as Texas’ co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach (2011-12), before being hired by Arkansas State. He replaced Gus Malzahn, who departed for Auburn.

In his one year with the Red Wolves, Harsin coached the team to a 7-5 record and a Bowl bid.

Arkansas State now seeks its fifth coach in five years. The past three coaches, Harsin, Malzahn and Hugh Freeze, all left after one year at the helm.
