Following Alabama’s heartbreaking loss to arch-rival Auburn in the Iorn Bowl, Crimson Tide kicker Cade Foster was thrown under the bus by fans. He received death threats on Twitter, prompting him to even change his name.
The kicker had a rough outing, missing three field goals, and being pulled in favor of freshman kicker Adam Griffith for the final attempt.
Foster’s teammates came to his defense after the game.
Now, former president George W. Bush has sent a handwritten letter to Foster. From one No. 43 to another, the letter reads, “Life has it’s setbacks. I know! However, you will be a stronger human with time. I wish you all the best.”
Following is a look at the letter sent out in a tweet from Cade.
