Calvin Johnson prepared to show Matt Elam his ‘old-man strength’

Calvin Johnson has responded to Matt Elam’s claim that the Lions wide receiver is old. Megatron is ready to show off his “old-man strength.”

When asked about Johnson on Wednesday, Elam said the Ravens must be physical with the wideout. His reasoning was that Johnson is old, and old guys don’t like contact.

“He’s pretty old, so I don’t know how physical he’ll be,” Elam said. “He’s a big guy, but he’s older. I guess when they get older they’re not going to be as physical, you know what I’m saying? We’re going to have to be physical, make him uncomfortable.”

Courtesy of Jeff Zrebiec with the Baltimore Sun, Johnson has jokingly responded with a little trash talk of his own.

Johnson also sized up the rest of Baltimore’s defense, believing the Lions should be able to make some plays on Monday night.

“I think that [if quarterback Matthew Stafford] does a good job with his eyes, he could get those guys out of position where we could make some plays. Just safeties – nothing extraordinatory. Those are definitely guys we can make plays on.”

As Zrebiec points out, Elam’s jabs at Megatron may result in a long night for his teammate.
