At 6-foot-6 and 330 pounds, West Monroe, Louisiana’s Cameron Robinson has been rated as the nation’s No. 1-overall recruit by 247 Sports. That is a great thing for either LSU or Alabama, and on Friday, Aug. 30 one of the two schools was going to earn a verbal commitment for the big man’s services.
However, Robinson has officially postponed such a decision, at the request of none other than The Worldwide Leader. ESPNU approached the offensive lineman with the prospect of announcing his choice of either the Tigers or the Tide on live, national television. The teenager was obviously excited enough over the prospect of such an opportunity that he does not mind making Les Miles and Nick Saban wait for his decision.
That’s how elite of a recruit this young star is. He is literally good enough to make two giants of the college football landscape wait on him. He is that important to their respective 2014 recruiting classes.
Now both will have to tune into ESPNU on Wednesday, Sept. 4 to find out which program Robinson will be joining, just like the rest of us.
