At first, reports circulated that Hyde had punched a police officer’s daughter and was kicked off the Buckeyes football team altogether.
From there, the rumors were downgraded and Hyde was suspended indefinitely pending the outcome of a legal investigation.
After that, conflicting reports were issued. Yahoo! Sports reported that surveillance footage of the night in question revealed that Hyde did not strike anyone at all. However, NBC 4 in Columbus drew up a diagram in order to explain that Hyde did indeed open-palm slap an unidentified woman.
Columbus 10 TV has not confirmed which report was indeed true. However, it has reported that the case is closed without any charges filed.
As of writing, no statement from the school has been made regarding whether or not Hyde’s suspension has been or will be lifted.
