When Colorado State coach Larry Eustachy was asked about how his Rams team will respond to heightened expectations from its fan base, the man gave a very interesting answer:
Colorado State finished 11-5 in-conference a year ago, good for second in the Mountain West. The program went on to earn an invite to the NCAA Tournament and even took down No. 9-seeded Mizzou in the Round of 64, 84-72. The Rams fell to eventual national champion Louisville in the next round.
It was an impressive showing, especially considering it was Eustachy’s first season and the win over Mizzou was the Rams’ first Tourney victory since 1989.
However, that was a senior-laden team. If you expect Eustachy and Co. to perform any better this year, well, perhaps you’ve been smoking something that isn’t legal in most states.
