Florida State No. 1 In AP Preseason Poll

The AP released its first poll of the season today and to no one’s surprise, the defending national champion Florida State Seminoles are sitting atop it. Returning Heisman winning quarterback Jameis Winston and a moderate ACC schedule make the Seminoles a favorite to sit at, or near, the top of this poll for the majority of the season.

Rounding out the top five are Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma and Ohio State. The top 10 is spread out among the major conferences, with Notre Dame being the only team from outside the Power 5. The SEC is the most represented, having three teams in the top 10 and eight overall.
