Washington Huskies to wear new matte black helmets vs. Oregon for ‘blackout’

According to CoachSark.com, the Washington Huskies have big uniform plans for Oregon’s visit to Seattle on Saturday. With ESPN’s College GameDay set to broadcast live from the game, the Huskies have called for a total blackout of the stadium.

Not only will the team be wearing its blackout uniforms, but coach Steve Sarkisian’s squad is also set to debut an all-new, matte black helmet against the Ducks.

The black is set off by a purple “W” on either side, as well as two purple stripes beginning above the facemask and gradually thinning out towards the back of the head.

What do you think of the new lid? It is definitely a drastic change from the chrome gold helmets Washington has worn in each of the last two weeks.
