We literally barely know where to begin, so let’s just back everything up about six months to Jan. 27. Chad Gaudin, 30, had signed a contract with the San Francisco Giants the month prior.

At 4:30 in the morning, a drunken Gaudin was arrested at a Las Vegas hospital, not after getting into a bar fight or something of that nature. No, he was arrested after he wandered up to the emergency room and began groping a woman strapped into a gurney.

How this story managed to stay under wraps without a news outlet nearby hearing a thing for over six months is anyone’s guess.

Fast-forwarding, the Las Vegas Review-Journal broke the story:

According to police, Gaudin was drunk about 4:30 a.m. when he approached a 23-year-old woman on a gurney at Desert Springs Hospital, three miles east of the Las Vegas Strip.

The woman told police she was lying on a gurney in the emergency room lobby when Gaudin appeared, told her “she was gorgeous” and touched her face and breast, she said.

A witness heard Gaudin say, “I will take care of you, don’t worry about them,” to the woman and then saw him touch her face, leg and breast, according to a police report.

We’re just going to come right out and say it: Creepy.

When a hospital worker approached to get Gaudin out of there, the pitcher reportedly became belligerent. Security held him until police arrived, but Gaudin remained aggressive, using profanity and yelling despite the presence of the authorities.

From everything police were able to see, Gaudin was just plain wasted.

“I asked Gaudin several times how he ended up at the hospital and each time he told me that he didn’t know,” an officer wrote. “Gaudin appeared to be intoxicated. He had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, trouble standing still, obeying commands, an odor of alcoholic beverages and couldn’t repeat his house number, where he lives, the same way twice in a row.”

No word as to why or how Gaudin got to the hospital, but there is one thing we feel comfortable speculating on. Married since 2011, his wife cannot be happy that this story is gaining national traction.
