On Tuesday, reports surfaced that Oregon had acknowledged “at least one major violation” with the NCAA.
The violation in question took place under former head coach Chip Kelly, who left Eugene following the 2012-13 season to take over the reigns of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kelly released the following statement shortly after the reports surfaced.
“I am aware of the recent reports and of the ongoing investigation being conducted by the NCAA and the University of Oregon. While at Oregon, I know we were fully cooperative with all aspects of the investigation and I will continue to contribute in any way that I can. But until the NCAA rules on the matter, I will have no further comment.”
Unfortunately for Oregon, Kelly won’t be the one to take the fall should any punishments be handed down.
