It has been a rough few seasons for the Tennessee Titans and running back Chris Johnson. Despite Johnson’s pure, 4.24-second 40-yard dash speed, the one-time 2,000-yard rusher has had a lot of trouble finding running lanes.
In a league as competitive as the NFL, it takes more than simply speed to run roughshod. It takes big bodies up front to create seams, which Johnson hasn’t had lately.
The organization, however, made a big step in the right direction in terms of giving their ground game some much needed support at the 2013 NFL Draft. The Titans selected massive and hyper-talented Alabama guard Chance Warmack.
Apparently, watching Warmack hold up a Titans’ jersey was a breath of fresh air to Johnson, who tweeted out a very simple show of support for the decision of the front office.
“@chrisjohnson28: THANK GOD” nice to know Titans FO got him some protection.

Now, Johnson just has to get his wheels turning and it’s game on in Nashville.
