Chris Kaman gets funky on Twitter after signing one-year deal with Lakers

After a year with the Dallas Mavericks, center Chris Kaman (35) is headed back back to Cali Cali … this time with the Lakers (Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports)

The Los Angeles Lakers are not used to being left out in the cold by the league’s premiere free agent players. Basically, when the franchise traded for Dwight Howard prior to the 2012 season, the Lake-show front office fully expected to re-sign him after the year was all wrapped up.

Well, it’s funny the way the ball bounces sometimes. D-12 has liftoff in Houston and Los Angeles was left scrambling for a center they could sign without putting any new dollars onto its cap space for free agency in 2014.

Enter Chris Kaman, a big man who could easily have been mistaken for a cave man while playing for Hollywood’s “other” team, the Clippers. Upon finding out the news that Kaman (who averaged 10.5 points and 5.6 rebounds in 66 injury-riddled games for Dallas last year) would be headed back to So-Cal, things got a little weird … on Twitter.

Enjoy Kaman’s stream-of-consciousness-use of the social media platform after inking his one-year deal worth just under $3.2 million.

In case you were curious as to what photo Mr. Kaman posted, we’ve dropped it into the bottom of this post. Trust us when we tell you that his quip about PETA was very – very – sarcastic.

Let’s move right along, shall we?

Ready for the weirdness? First, Kaman’s final tweet of this little sequence, then the hunting photo we promised.

And now, PETA, this one’s for you, from the newest member of the Los Angeles Lakers:
