It’s time to break out the two step in Gainesville, because Chris Walker is officially a free man. On Wednesday, the freshman was finally cleared to play by the NCAA, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.
The announcement was a long time coming for Walker, who was not academically eligible in the Fall. His addition to a surging Florida Gators team could potentially be lethal. At 6’10” and 225 pounds, Walker was the No. 1 center and No. 6 overall player for the class of 2013.
Not only is Walker big, but he’s extremely athletic. It will be tough for any team in the country to match up against the Gators down low with Walker playing in rotation alongside Patric Young and Will Yeguete.
Walker’s first game will be a home matchup against Missouri on Tuesday, Feb. 4. Florida fans, mark your calendars.
