Churches in Tallahassee and Auburn talk trash on Twitter prior to BCS title game

In what may be the friendliest trash talk ever, two First Baptist churches bantered about the BCS National Championship Game via Twitter.

The churches (one from Tallahassee, the other Auburn) quoted Bible scripture while making a case for their respective teams. Auburn’s church cited passages with tigers and eagles. Tallahassee’s conjures up imagery of spears.

All that “Prayer in Jordan-Hare” and “Iron Bowl miracle” stuff had me thinking that this Auburn team has a guardian angel on its shoulder. However, FSU has made a compelling case.

Somewhere in Tuscaloosa there is a pastor circling dates on next year’s schedule and preparing a sermon on Revelation 12:12.

Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
