On Wednesday night, news leaked that the Cleveland Browns interviewed Greg Schiano for their head coaching position. Between the multiple MSRA breakouts, the Josh Freeman debacle and the 11-21 overall record in Tampa, Cleveland’s decision was … odd.
On second thought, maybe a coach who throws his quarterback under the bus interviewing with a team that trades in coaches every two years isn’t such a stretch. Nonetheless, it’s always fun to take the Internet’s temperature when something like this happens.
Here is some midweek snark following the latest turn in the Browns’ coaching saga.
“You sure me cleaning all these gutters for you is an interview?” “Yes, Coach Schiano.”

This news just proves the old adage: In the NFL, you don’t go after Greg Schiano, you wind up with Greg Schiano.

@RuiterWrongFAN the other day you said Gase backing out would be equivalent of dumpster fire…hiring Schiano would be a landfill explosion

I look at twitter & find out the #Cavs lose a game they can’t lose & the Browns look at hiring Greg Schiano? I need more bourbon.
— Mark Skog (@MarkSkog) January 23, 2014
Poor Greg Schiano. The only coach willing to take the Browns job and sounds like the Browns don’t want to give it to him. That’s rough.

Hoping Schiano goes to the Browns. Then Belichick can heist Josh Gordon and cash for a pack of Camel’s, a 7th rounder, & a Lifehouse CD.

@bomani_jones Maybe Schiano should hire Matt Flynn’s agent.
