Alabama running back Kenyan Drake was arrested early Saturday morning on charges of obstructing government operations. According to AL.com, Drake was taken into custody after he attempted to cross a crime scene. His bail has been set at $1,000.
Sergeant Brent Blankley with the Tuscaloosa Police Department had the following statement regarding Drake’s arrest:
“He was trying to cross a crime scene,” Blankley said. “We had a shooting and his vehicle was parked inside the crime scene. We told him that he could not get his vehicle and he tried to cross the crime scene anyway so he could get his vehicle. Officers arrested him for obstructing government operations.”
Drake is part of a loaded running back stable whom Lane Kiffin has suggested may be better than any roster in the nation – college or professional. In his two seasons with the Crimson Tide, Drake has accounted for 1,129 all-purpose yards and 14 total touchdowns.
