Brown is rated by 247Sports Composite (an industry-wide average) as the nation’s No. 7 guard, as well as the seventh-best player in the state of Alabama for 2016. According to ESPN, at 6’3″ and 350 pounds he’s a prospect skilled in both pass and run blocking, and possesses the desirable offensive lineman attribute of “nastiness.”
Brown is a prospect with the tools to be a very good college OG. He brings size, strength and toughness. Needs to continue to develop and be sounder and more consistent with technique, but can be a highly productive starting Power-5 interior OL.
Brown chose Alabama over offers from SEC rivals Mississippi State and Tennessee, as well as Louisville. He makes the seventh commitment in Alabama’s 2016 class – the third offensive lineman and second guard.
Here are highlights from his junior season at Austin High School in Decatur, Alabama.
