The folks at INsite, “Atlanta’s Entertainment Monthly,” needed Lee Corso’s assistance prior to publishing the event calendar for their December issue. Corso could have referred to his trademark line, “Not so fast my friend!”
INsite apparently got a little jumpy, posting an event for the SEC Championship on Dec. 7 that included Alabama and a “Prelude to a National Title.”
Following is the transcript of the copy, courtesy of The War Eagle Reader.
Once again, this is a game that could easily be renamed “Prelude to a National Title.” The SEC championship game is truly a one of a kind. A member of the conference has gone on to win the past seven straight national championships. So a ticket to the Georgia Dome is a ticket to see the best in the country. Top-ranked Alabama faces either Mizzou or South Carolina for the league’s crown. Get tickets, if you can, at secsports.com. The winner will go on to face [it doesn’t matter] for the title.
Shortly after this was published, a miracle happened – an Iron Bowl miracle to be precise.
As TWER points out, INsite still has the event listed on its website as well.
