Clemson coach Dabo Swinney has some high hopes for injured running back Wayne Gallman.
On Wednesday, Swinney said he expects Gallman to return and play next week against Florida State.
Gallman was injured during Clemson’s overtime win against NC State last Saturday. He came out of the game with concussion-like symptoms, and was finally diagnosed with a concussion after testing.
Swinney said Gallman was “doing great,” and hopes to see him back in action very soon.
Gallman leads the Tigers with 90 carries for 489 yards and five touchdowns.
Swinney continually praises Gallman for his leadership and work ethic. “He’s our leader at that position,” Swinney said, “and we really like our other players, but we don’t have a lot of experience there. Here’s a guy who’s played in a lot of big games and has been our workhorse so it [was] definitely a loss for us.”
