The college football regular season has come to end. Conference champions have been crowned and the highly anticipated College Football Playoffs spots have been filled.
The top four teams moving onto play in the College Football Playoffs this season is No. 1 Crimson Tide, No. 2 Clemson, No. 3 Ohio State, and No. 4 Washington.
Undefeated Alabama will be taking on Washington in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, while Clemson will take on the Buckeyes in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 31.
The national title game will be played by the teams that win the semifinal games on Jan. 9 in Tampa, Florida.
This year’s playoff selections have left some people in disbelief, as Ohio State didn’t even compete in their conference championship game. On the other hand, Penn State won six straight games, came out with the Big Ten Championship, and still ended up fifth and out of the playoff berth.
CFP committee chairman Kirby Hocutt said it was a challenge picking the top four teams, and one of the hardest decisions was placing Washington in the fourth spot over Penn State.
The final decision for Washington’s playoff berth was brought about by their quality of wins, despite their strength in schedule. Their only loss this season came against USC and the PAC-12 Championship resonated with the playoff committee.
So, get ready for a College Football New Year’s Eve extravaganza when the top teams square off and fight for their right to be No. 1 in the entire nation.
