Stanford coach David Shaw absolutely laid into his counterpart at Washington, Steve Sarkisian, on Tuesday.
After the Cardinal managed to hold off a very good Huskies team, 30-28, coach Sarkisian was understandably upset. No one likes losing, especially with the chance to knock off the No. 5-ranked team in the nation. However, there is a wide gulf between frustration and accusing a team of faking injuries. Sarkisian waded across that gulf, calling out Stanford players for, in his eyes, faking injuries in order to slow down Washington’s no-huddle offense.
A few Cardinal defenders took to Twitter in response, but Shaw turned the heat up with a scathing speech on Sarkisian’s words and behavior.
Welcome to level 11, Washington-Stanford rivalry.
And folks in the South thought they were the only ones who cared about football.
